How To Update Samsung Galaxy S2 To Jelly Bean 4.2

19:01
Samsung has been the most familiar name in the past few years when it comes to Smartphone. This tech-giant has been rolling out of its sleeve one after another high end phones that are really unmatched even in this competitive market. But, the question regarding the responsibility of this company has already been raised.
Is Samsung So Much Responsible For The Comparatively Old Handsets?
The above question was sparked in the mind of millions when an unofficial yet trustworthy source leaked the fact that there will be no Android 4.2 Update for Samsung Galaxy S2, the phone that has largely helped Samsung to be famous.

With time, people are starting to believe in the above fact for many reasons. It was in the last month (September 2013) that Samsung made an announcement regarding an array of updates. The Samsung Galaxy S4 will receive its awaited update to Android Jelly Bean 4.3 in October. Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 which came with Android 4.1 can skip Android 4.2 to update the OS directly to Android 4.3. This update is scheduled to be rolled out in the upcoming weeks.
But, to the astonishment of many, any announcement regarding the update of Samsung Galaxy S2 was not made. But, if you are thinking that this is one of the decisions that the company has taken in a hurry, you are completely wrong. A rumor that spread in July, this year, triggered the fact that there will be no more software update available for Galaxy S2.
But, the hopes of millions of S2 owners were raised again when the company rolled out an Android 4.2 update for Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus and that too, in Europe. Since then, nothing has been heard about any possible updates for this phone.
So, all the folks out there, who were hoping that Samsung will pave the way to Android 4.2 update for Galaxy S2, there’s little to say to you to give you hope. It is now almost official that there will be no more updates for this phone. The last update being made earlier this year (Android Jelly Bean 4.1 Update in United States), you can upgrade your phone to it if you still have not opted for it.
In order to make this update, you need to ensure that you have sufficient charge left in your phone. Now, you can connect to the Wi-Fi and go to Settings – About Device – Software Update. This will let you update your current OS to Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Once you have completed downloading the software package, you need to reboot your device and the installation will start automatically.
The Baseband Version of your phone will be changed to GB27 from FL24. So, without wasting much time for the next update, upgrade your Samsung Galaxy S2 to Android 4.1 as this might be the final update for this Smartphone.
Conclusion:
If you are not that much of a high-end guy, an upgrade to Android 4.1 is enough for your Samsung Galaxy S2 rather than Android 4.2. But, for those who are really tech-savvy, it is a matter of disappointment from Samsung.
