It’s certainly been a while since we’ve seeniPhone 5 (or is that iPhone – 6th generation?)  rumors creep up on the internet. Over the course of the past 24 hours, however, two credible rumors have popped up to shed light on Apple’s next smartphone.
The first rumor comes from Korea IT News, who report that the next iPhone will feature LiquidMetal casing that allows for true unibody construction. According to TechCrunch, LiquidMetal casing features a mix of various metals that will give the iPhone a glassy feeling despite being made entirely of metal. Further, LiquidMetal is extremely tough and resistant to the scratching, dents, and wear smartphone users have grown accustomed to.
Gene Munster, an analyst with Piper Jaffray, brings us our second iPhone rumor, though it’s one we’ve heard many times now. Munster believes that the next iPhone will launch in October, one year after the iPhone 4S was introduced. Further, Munster states that the next iPhone will feature a Qualcomm LTE chip, bringing true 4G to the iPhone.
In summary, the iPhone (6th generation) will likely feature LTE, LiquidMetal unibody casing, and launch sometime this October. If these rumors hold true, Apple will likely have another phenomenal holiday quarter.
